ASP / ASP.net

This is Microsoft's 'Active Server Pages' language, used extensively for database-driven applications. ASP.net supports coding written in compiled languages, such as C# and Visual Basic - and is widely used with Windows server environments and with Microsoft's SQL Server database.

ColdFusion

This is a superb web programming language ideal for complex and robust web applications. Now owned by Adobe, the Coldfusion language and tools are favoured for the ability to create very complicated and flexible systems with condensed and simplified code. ColdFusion applications run on Windows hosting platforms and integrate with a variety of database technologies - including MS SQL and MySQL.

PHP (PHP Hypertext Processor)

A flexible and adaptable scripting language ideally-suited to Linux hosting environmnets. PHP is an open-source language/software - which is free - and tends to be most-often used in conjunction with MySQL databases.

Java

Java is the language of Sun Microsystems - used to develop JavaServerPages within the J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) framework. Java-based applications commonly interface with MySQL or Oracle databases

Microsoft SQL Server
