Advantec Internet Services Ltd is a specialist web development and programming agency based near Southampton, Hampshire. We provide a range of web development, design, marketing and programming services to a variety of clients - from small local businesses up to multi-national corporations. Our typical projects can range from building a simple brochure website for a local business, to developing a large-scale, online database system for the NHS. We also provide extensive e-commerce and web marketing services.

Purpose of the Role:

To take responsibility for the running of the accounting and administration aspects of the business – assisting the Managing Director and other staff in the general day-to-day smooth running of the company. General duties will involve...

  • Entering purchase invoices in to the accounting software
  • Chasing unpaid bills / credit control
  • Administrating staff holiday
  • Responsibility for stationery and office supply ordering
  • Administrating business mileage claims
  • Bank account reconciliation
  • Taking incoming telephone calls and directing them as necessary
  • Assisting with other general day-to-day business activities as and when required

Experience Required:

Some experience of working in an office / administration / secretarial environment would be beneficial, but not essential. Some experience or understanding of business accounting would also be beneficial – but again is not necessary – as full training will be given. More important is a friendly, professional telephone manner, a general competence with computing – and good organisational skills. The confidence to deal directly with clients (particularly clients who may be causing difficulty with payment issues) – both by email, letter and on the telephone – is important. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word) is also necessary

Salary and benefits:

We promote flexible working and there are 25-days holiday per year (pro rata). The salary is negotiable depending on experience.
